Friday Memo | March 27, 2026

March 27, 2026

Dear TBHS Community,

I have had a wonderful week celebrating Bromfield and highlighting a few students. On Monday evening, I presented the 2026-2027 Program of Studies to school committee. The document is a collaborative labor of love between administration and department leaders. I’m proud of the thoughtfulness of our leaders as we continue to make changes for inclusion and to honor student choice and voice!  Wednesday, Dr Dwight and I accompanied senior Faith Beckett to the Worcester County Superintendent’s Scholar Luncheon where her achievements were honored along with other seniors from across the county. Congratulations, Faith! Last night, Misha Kalava and Gwynnie Poutasse were the first ever student lecturers as part of the Warner Free Lecture Series. I was simply over the moon proud to be their principal last night as Misha encouraged us to step out of comfort zones and embrace being a beginner at something new and Gwynnie taught us the history of Kempo Karate and shared her successes with the art. They were incredibly impressive young people who spoke with poise, confidence, and enthusiasm. Thank you to Steve Peisch and WFL for reaching out to collaborate with TBHS. I look forward to making this an annual event!

Tonight we kick off the the Bromfield Theater Department Grades 6–12 production of Mamma Mia!, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 PM and a Sunday matinee at 2:00 PM. The set looks fantastic and I can’t wait to see our students on the stage. Earlier this week, members of the cast performed sneak preview numbers for students at both TBS and HES, building excitement across the community.

Also taking place this weekend is the 10th Annual Bloom N Art Show, presented by FiveSparks, running Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at FiveSparks in Harvard. This event showcases artwork from local artists of all ages, including the fabulous work of many of our TBMS students. It is always an impressive and inspiring display of creativity, and well worth a visit if you are able.

Yesterday, we also had our TBHS School Council, where we shared our draft Vision of a Graduate (VOG) for the first time. The VOG committee has been hard at work creating skill statements and performance outcomes aligned with the HPS vision and values. The next stop on our stakeholder tour for input is the TBHS Faculty on April 7th.

Today during Flex and last period, our 9th and 10th graders will see Romeo & Juliet in our auditorium thanks to the generous funding of the PTO and brought to us by Bromfield graduate, Lily Narbonne, who is co-owner of Lanes Coven Theater Company.

Best,

Kim
