Friday Memo  |  October 11, 2024

Dear TBHS Community,

This week during PSATs we held our second annual Senior Breakfast and Support Day. Seniors arrived to spend the ½ day having their draft college essays proofread by an ELA teacher, their common app questions answered by counselors, other post secondary support from counselors, a supported chance to catch up on other work, and wellness/movement breaks from Mrs Russell and Mr Boisvert. Thank you Dr. Horton and counselors for your thoughtful planning. Thank you to our kitchen staff for the breakfast. It was so great to once again give our seniors the gift of time.

Thank you, Mr Skrocki for organizing the PSATs and thank you staff for proctoring. It was a busy ½ day with many moving parts. The afternoon brought 6-12 department meetings. Folks came together to talk about vertical alignment and to share tips and tricks for planning in the new schedule.

I hope everyone has a lovely long weekend as we are off on Monday for Indigenous Peoples' Day. Next week we also have a department leader meeting on Thursday and the Homecoming Dance Friday evening.

Of course, these are only a snapshot of the range of academic, social, and emotional learning happening at TBS!

Please let us know if you have any questions! Below you will find upcoming dates and school/community events.

Best,

Kim

We invite you to join our community's efforts to provide relief to families impacted by the recent hurricanes. In partnership with the Harvard Lions Club, we are aiming to fill a 24-foot tractor-trailer with essential supplies within one week! Your donations will make a significant difference.

You can drop off items at any school lobby, where designated boxes are set up, or bring them directly to the collection site located next to Harvard's Dunkin’ Donuts.

We encourage you to send any of the following items with your students, so they can actively participate in this meaningful response to a national tragedy:

  • Baby wipes, diapers, formula

  • Sunscreen

  • Toothbrushes, toothpaste

  • Hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes

  • Dog and cat food

  • Non-perishable food items

  • Haircare products
