Friday Memo | January 9, 2026

January 9, 2026

Dear TBHS Community,

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break. As we re-enter school, we are closing in on the end of quarter 2. Educators are analyzing their gradebooks and “tagging” students for extra support in Flex blocks. With department leaders, we will begin to build the schedule for next year in the next few weeks. December brought many college acceptances in for our seniors…and now many are faced with tough decisions. I know first hand how exciting and anxiety provoking this is for both students and families. Last minute visits to schools are being planned and pro and con lists are being made in many homes. In my family, we will  be flying to Chicago over MLK weekend and then up to Burlington the following weekend as we narrow options. I said to my son, and I say to many of your children, it’s a privilege to have options and choice! If anyone needs a pep talk (or commiseration), I’m available!

See below for a unique opportunity with Warner Free Lecture Series for students to present on a topic of their choosing and win $200! Applications due Jan 23rd!

Best,

Kim

Fanfare is holding its annual Winter Concert Fundraising Drive.  We hope to support our music teachers with several requests this year.  Our current drive will raise funds to purchase student ensemble folders to organize their music.  Last year’s drive to fund school instrument repairs was a huge success.  Thank you, and please continue to support music in our schools!
