Friday Memo  |  October 4, 2024

Dear TBS High School Community,

I’m excited to announce that the fall play is "Just Another High School Play" and auditions are next week. Our TBS Drama Society advisors this year are Sara Rutkiewicz, Emily Trainor, and Maddie Price. The fall show is 6-12 this year. See more details below.

Next week we have a half day on 10/9. During the morning, 10th & 11th graders will be taking PSATs. 9th graders will have classes, and 12th graders will once again have the morning to work on college applications supported by counselors, do some de-stressing with mindful movement opportunities, and/or get caught up on any other post-secondary planning needed. It’s an opportunity for us to acknowledge what a stressful time it is for our seniors and give them time and support. We started that last year and it was very well received, so we are doing it again!

Of course, these are only a snapshot of the range of academic, social, and emotional learning happening at TBS!

Best,

Kim

The Bromfield School Principal, 9-12

School Announcements:

Drama Society:

The announcement you have all been waiting for…the fall play will be: “Just Another High School Play” by Brian Starchman. This production is about a group of actors who have been abandoned by their drama teacher and need to put together a show, though no one has shown up for rehearsals. This comedic play will incorporate the history of theater, improv, and references from Marlowe, Shakespeare, and other famous playwrights.

Auditions will be Monday 2:50-4pm, Wednesday 11:45am-1:30pm, and Thursday 2:50-4pm.

Materials will be posted here and on the music bulletin board outside the cafe (GC code posted on the bulletin board).

Anyone interested in a speaking part of any kind must audition, and MUST commit to AFTER school rehearsals, which will be organized by scene.  Audition lines do NOT need to be memorized, but should be well prepared.

If you are interested in a non-speaking/ensemble role, crew or tech (backstage) you do NOT need to audition!

EVERYONE interested in participating in the Fall play should fill out the “Fall Play Participant Form”, so we can be sure we have your interests documented.
